Beyonce + Tina = Hottest 'Proud Mary' To Date
Tina Turner is almost 70...whaaa? This
was amazing.
I also loved the Beatles
tribute -- talk about chills.
In case you missed it last night, here's a complete list
of winners!

Go On, Show Your Teeth
Post
your grin for a chance to be an on
stage presenter at the
People's Choice Awards!
If you can't resist the
gorgeousness of your pearly whites every time you
glance in the mirror, I have two things I want to say
to you:
- Dude, get over yourself. Immediately.
- You should put that energy towards entering this fun online contest.
Crest & Scope are
sponsoring a search for the person with the most
confident smile, and the winner gets to:
- Serve as the official Miss/Mister
People’s Choice, and present at the awards show in
January
- To hang with Ryan Seacrest on the
red carpet
(that's your favorite part so far, right?)
- Admission to the official
after-party (which also gives you official bragging
rights for your friends back home.)
- A pre-award show makeover from a
celebrity stylist, complete with full hair, makeup
and wardrobe. (Did somebody say wardrobe?)
- An all-expenses paid weekend with
four friends in a luxe Hollywood hotel (OK, so I
guess you can get the bragging rights part if you
have more than four friends)
To enter, all you have to do is upload your smilin' mug to SmileSpotlight.com, and give a quick answer to the (really, really dorky) question: “How does your white smile and fresh breath make you feel confident?” (It's actually not that bad—I just did it, about three sentences is all there's room for.)
The deadline is tonight at midnight—so do it ASAP and be sure to enter a pre-Halloween candy smile!
Emmy Makeup Look Cheat Sheet
Above: Celebrity
Makeup Artist and Emmy Makeup Guru, Bruce Grayson
Emmy recaps have been
everywhere this week, and I love reading them, but
sometimes I wish these people would give it to me
straight:
Dear (so-and-so-weekly/website/mag),
I agree that (fill-in-the-blank-actress)'s 'bold lip look' from Sunday Night's Emmys was gorgeous. I appreciate how the sunset inspired her makeup artist when they chose the color. Way to go on the behind-the-scenes-investigation. Writing now to ask for one tiny detail: what's the name of the lipstick she wore, or one close to it? That's really all I need to know.
Love, YBLAG
Luckily, I didn't have to wait for them to write me back. Instead, I pulled some strings and found out for myself. This report comes straight from the horse's mouth, via Primetime Emmys Make-up Department Head and Olay spokesperson Bruce Grayson. What's a makeup department head, you ask? Basically, not one actress was allowed down the red carpet or on stage until Bruce gave his stamp of approval. Here are some Cliffsnotes for Emmy-ready lips, eyes and cheeks.more...
You Blog Like an Emmy
Just finished watching the live broadcast of the 59th Annual Emmys on Fox. CliffsNotes: Katherine Heigl was the prettiest, Sally Field was censored, and The Sopranos won. I was really hoping the producers would cut to black in the middle of David Chase's speech. Talk about sweet revenge. Click here for the full list of winners. Click below for the bits that caught my attention:
more...Britney Blew It
Obviously, we all tuned
in to the VMAs tonight to see Brit-Brit kick it
"Slave 4 U" style. No such luck. SOOO
disappointed. Like, sooo. I didn't really
mind her terrible outfit, nor did I mind the
incredibly out-of-sync-lip-syncing (was anyone
expecting her to actually sing? Seriously, lets not
go crazy here). Rather, it was the dancing that broke
my heart. Brit's choreography lacked its signature
"umph." She spent the entire number touching her
hair, like she couldn't believe it was fake or
something. I know she must have been nervous, but she
had an opportunity to bring it tonight. Blew it!
Everyone at the pre-show was cheering her on, so
excited for a comeback! BLEW IT! Sadly, "Gimme More"
left me, and I'm sure many others, not really wanting
to see any more of the new Brit.
Here's how my
night with the VMAs played
out:
9:00-- The Brit heard 'round the
world. So. Bad.
9:05-- Sarah Silverman comes out for the
intro, makes everything worse for Spears, calls her
kids "the most adorable mistakes she's ever seen."
Who says that?
9:16-- Out of curiosity, I check to see if
Perezelle posted anything about
the opening number. Not yet. Hmm...
9:25-- Chris Brown and Rihanna perform, he
dances like Usher pumped up on a ton of caffeine.
He's good though. Fun Billie Jean cover!
9:30-- Check Perez again—Sometime in the last
14 minutes, he posted the following: "How bad was
Brit, Y'All?" The body says simply "Discuss."
9:47-- There are 1,825 comments in response
to Perez's post.
9:51-- 2,417 comments
9:56-- The Hills girls present an
award. I don't know which award, because I'm
distracted by LC's dark mauve-ish shade of lipstick.
Looks good on her! (More on this later)
9:57-- 2,754. Clearly, Perez's readers have
strong opinions on the Britney matter.
9:58-- JT and Timbaland have an on-stage
lovefest, JT says Chris Brown makes him feel old.
Riiiiiight.
10:02- I check out MTV's site, to see what
they have going on. As promised, the Brit ringtones are available.
Contact me and I'll let you
know how to record one of these yourself.
10:05- Shia LaBeouf makes a joke that no one
gets, especially Ludacris.
10:14- MTV.com posted Brit's performance. I
can't watch the whole thing again, but here it is in
case you missed it:
10:30-
3,513 comments on Perez's single-word post.
10:31- Rihanna's performing. Again.
10:36- Alicia Keyes covers George
Michael's "Freedom."
10:46- Jamie Foxx goes on a rant
about some fight between Kid Rock and Tommy Lee that
I totally missed and I don't know how. Jennifer
Garner announces the winner of the "Best New Artist"
category is 'Gym Class Fallout.' (Wha?)
10:49- Miss "Such As" South Carolina
can't read teleprompters either. Someone needs to
tell this chick the world is laughing at—
not with— her.
10: 57-
Mary J declares every day 'Dre Day' in the world of
music.
11:01- No, really... how did I miss
that fight? Apparently Kid Rock walked right up to
Tommy Lee and punched him in the schnoz.
11:05- Diddy helps the situation by
pointing out that rockers—not just rappers—fight each
other. He then, after announcing JT, Timbaland and
Nelly, invites us all up to his suite on the 32nd
floor of the Palms for an after party.
11:06- The trio close the show.
It's, of course, awesome, even though Nelly's voice
kind of sounds weirdly high-pitched.
11:25- Perez's comment tally=
4,451
Get Pumped!
The end-of-summer blues
can really hurt, but the buzz leading up to the VMAs
usually numbs the pain a bit. I can't wait to see it
all come together on Sunday— particularly Brit's
performance. (Can she shake it in a wig?) If you
didn't follow my twittering advice
from a few weeks ago, don't worry, you still have
a chance to get some insider information! Check
out the VMA Twitter page,
which I've been following religiously all week...

When asked which designer she was wearing last night at the Teen Choice Awards, Vanessa Hudgens (above) responded, "I don't know! " I hope her press people prep her more thoroughly before she attends next year's Nickelodeon Teen Choice Awards, where such a response would be met with a good ol' sliming.
Are you Twittering Yet?
If you haven't heard about Twitter
yet, (um, where have you been?) it's basically like
an ongoing away message you can post to all your
friends to tell them what you're doing. You can post
via text, IM, e-mail, your desktop, or directly on
their site. Your friends, in turn, can subscribe to
your Twitter account via RSS feed, mobile text,
e-mail alerts, etc. It's a fun way to do some primo
stalking! I just heard about a cool new reason to
Twitter! Check out what I learned today:
