It's good enough, but kind of blurry. Today's site has tons of fun Bruce stuff to check out, including better videos than this one, photo galleries, behind-the scenes footage from the plaza and a cute fan quiz.

Guys... Elvis is Mad at Me
Image:
ClearChannel.com
Hey, NY-area YBLAG
readers... do you listen to Elvis Duran & The Morning
Zoo on Z100? Were you listening this morning
at around 8:35? If so... you may have heard my
on-air debut! (How'd I do?)
Here's the scoop: I texted the show to tell Elvis I
thought he was being rude to Danielle Monaro (umm, he
was! He always is!) and all of a sudden my phone was
ringing! They called me! I almost
didn't pick up—but then Elvis basically challenged me
on the air to answer the phone... so I obviously did!
I was on with them for about five minutes, Elvis took
exception to my calling him out on something (he is,
after all, the boss...) and I admitted that while I
am a big fan of his, I think he has a negative tone
towards Danielle sometimes. Listeners were texting in
during our chat, saying things like "someone finally
said it!" and "this girl is crazy!" Danielle asked me
to be her new lawyer (hee!). Elvis talked about 'his
new attitude' for about an hour after we hung up!
I e-mailed Danielle just now to tell her about YBLAG.
Maybe she'll check us out!
I've been a faithful Z100 listener since about 1989,
and my first time on the air was a result of Elvis
Duran calling my cellphone. I think he's mad at me
now.
If you're not familiar with the show, check out
this
article. You can listen online too!

Need to Catch Up on The Hills?
I love watching The Hills kids kvell over
their own lives. I've missed the last few weeks, so I
just caught up on MTV.com, and found
everything is status quo (thank God). In last
night's episode, Heidi brings on the crazy as she
drags an apathetic Spencer to register for china.
(BTW, he still hasn't told his 'rents about their
engagement.) LC somehow feels a need to be Jason's
"friend" and he makes sure she's present for his
engagement announcement, which clearly is super
"friend"-ly.
Watch the above clip if only for the hilariously
embarrassing Heidi/ Spencer scene in Williams Sonoma.

Emmy Makeup Look Cheat Sheet
Above: Celebrity
Makeup Artist and Emmy Makeup Guru, Bruce Grayson
Emmy recaps have been
everywhere this week, and I love reading them, but
sometimes I wish these people would give it to me
straight:
Dear (so-and-so-weekly/website/mag),
I agree that (fill-in-the-blank-actress)'s 'bold lip look' from Sunday Night's Emmys was gorgeous. I appreciate how the sunset inspired her makeup artist when they chose the color. Way to go on the behind-the-scenes-investigation. Writing now to ask for one tiny detail: what's the name of the lipstick she wore, or one close to it? That's really all I need to know.
Love, YBLAG
Luckily, I didn't have to wait for them to write me back. Instead, I pulled some strings and found out for myself. This report comes straight from the horse's mouth, via Primetime Emmys Make-up Department Head and Olay spokesperson Bruce Grayson. What's a makeup department head, you ask? Basically, not one actress was allowed down the red carpet or on stage until Bruce gave his stamp of approval. Here are some Cliffsnotes for Emmy-ready lips, eyes and cheeks.more...
Ralph Lauren Introduces Rugby.com
Rugby
by Ralph Lauren (Rugby.com)
Gone are the days of seeing rugby players for the
sweaty, brawny, daisy duke-wearing athletes they are.
Enter Rugby.com, Ralph Lauren's
newest line for men and women that puts a modern
twist on prep school chic. Rugby launched in 2004
in Boston, and is now in eight storefronts around
the country, including one near
NYU in Manhattan.
I'm obsessed with the site, which isn't surprising —
Polo.com has the most
user-friendly interface of any shopping site on my
radar. Rugby.com has a similar feel,
with an interactive history on the sport's signature shirt, a blog, video components, digital wallpapers and gorgeous
photo galleries.
The only thing I couldn't find were details on where
these guys and gals gather for post-game drink ups.
Let me know if you can find those anywhere...

Anxious, Isolated, Bored Without YBLAG? I Am.
A
recent survey reveals most adults feel
disconnected—literally— when offline.
It's no secret: the
internet has become the go-to medium for
self-expression, staying in constant touch with
friends, and keeping tabs on Britney Spears. For
some, however, the web is not just a casual means of
battling bouts with boredom at the office, but has
morphed into an addictive lifeline. So basically, if
you think you're an internet junkie, you may be on to
something there.
This week, Reuters reported interesting results from
a survey testing the American psyche sans Wi-Fi.
The majority of U.S. adults [feel] they cannot go for a week without going online and one in three [give] up friends and sex for the Web.
A survey asked 1,011 American adults how long they would feel OK without going on the Web, to which 15 percent said a just a day or less, 21 percent said a couple of days and another 19 percent said a few days.
Only a fifth of those who took part in an online survey said they could go for a week.
Are these people
crazy?? A week? What is this, 1987? How are you
supposed to go that long without Perezelle? Whatever, count me
in with the "crazies" in the survey.

JT Hearts iChat
Today on Oprah,
JT revealed his preferred means of connecting to his
honey while on the road: AV iChat. OMG, me
too!! JT, what's your screenname?
Geek Sugar fills us in on the
following JT quote:
"Technology is a wonderful thing sometimes.... I find that to be really cool, when you can actually see someone's face. I do it with my friends, as well, just to have a conversation back and forth. It just makes you feel closer, that's all."
Ever the Southern gentleman, JT didn't actually say girlfriend Jessica Biel's name... but, duh, who cares, he was obviously talking about her! SO CUTE!
Sidenote: Later on, O asked JT what he thinks is going on with Brit...here's what he said. I seriously admire his discretion and respect, and I'm sure Brit appreciates how he handled this.

It's On! Macy's Fall Sale Starts Today
Photo:
Macys.com
A little birdie filled me in on a not-so-secret shopping tip this afternoon: Macy's storewide Fall Sale has officially started. I'm psyched because I usually find out about these events way too late in the game. If you can't make it to the store, the site is chock full of steals, and definitely worth a look-see. I plan to hit up their shoe selection, which I've noticed has been carrying really cool brands lately.

When I do wear makeup, I've been known play "Make Believe: The Makeup Artist Edition." I love experimenting with colors and techniques and new products. Here's a shot of what my "primary" makeup bag looks like at the moment:
Fascinating, huh? FYI,
the whole

for dramatic effect, I've been too lazy to either
switch to a bigger case or transfer some products
into my "secondary" stash.

why.

Wanna hear one of my
all-time favorite stories? Cool, here goes:
Once upon a time, in the very late 90's, a beautiful
twentysomething girl from Connecticut was going
through a typical quarter-life crisis. She had just
graduated college with a degree in theatre, wasn't
sure what she wanted career-wise and landed a few
great jobs that didn't really suit her. Then, a bad
breakup with a bf was added into the mix. OY. So she
did what any normal girl would do in her sitch—she
packed up her shiz and moved to Cali.
Wait, it gets better...

Smiley Emoticon Turns 25
Happy
Birthday, Smiley!
Tomorrow marks the 25th
anniversary of the first digital smile. On September
19, 1982, Scott Fahlman, a professor at Carnegie
Mellon University, posted the following message on an
online bulletin board:
In lieu of a traditional birthday party for smiley dude, the professor and his friends are holding a contest for students, where they will be challenged to come up with a "technology-assisted, person-to-person [means of] communication.""I propose the following character sequence for joke markers:
," wrote Fahlman. "Read it sideways."
Wouldn't it be cool if someone came up with a way to say, "Fix your face,"
in just three keystrokes?
